Tianjin Jinsan Commercial and Trade Co đã lừa đảo Groupon bằng cách tự xưng là đại lý phân phối chính thức cho thương hiệu Tissot, song hãng này chỉ cung cấp sản phẩm nhái.
Trong thông báo gửi tới hãng tin AFP, Groupon cho biết họ sẽ hoàn trả đầy đủ tiền mua hàng cho người tiêu dùng, đồng thời bồi thường thêm 400 nhân dân tệ (63 USD).
Kết hợp với “gã khổng lồ Internet” của Trung Quốc là Tencent, Groupon đã ra mắt liên doanh tại đất nước đông dân nhất thế giới này vào tháng Hai vừa qua, và ở đây họ phải cạnh tranh quyết liệt với những đối thủ Trung Quốc khác.
